First orchid of the year

Lots of monkey brain today.
Productive, but not a single thing I set out to do done.
Hey ho.

Conflicting evening walk up on the scar.
I've come to deeply love the stark beauty of here. The remnants of what was, the beauty writ large and especially small. It totally deserves its National Park status.
Then tonight we saw two local farmers taking trailer loads of limestone from the remaining pavement. Once it was quarried, still is locally, but surely in the park its protected, felt like desecration.

This little gem is the first of what will soon be a carpet of pink, purple and white. Just another example of fragile beauty.
