Ferns

I have always been fascinated by the way in which the tips of ferns tend to curl up and like the shepherd's crook shape they exhibit. Evidently it is partly to do with their stage of development - whether moisture and nutrients are reaching throughout the leaf and partly according to the level of moisture they are able to sustain. So if they get dry and scorched they will retreat into themselves.
