A special date to remember

Continue to sleep well.....woke at 7.15.
Noooo, of course I didnt get up lol ;-) The bin men were around just after 8 which woke hub up, so we listened to the radio for a while before getting up.

Only exercise today was a walk to Tesco Express this morning for a few things, hub got his newspaper. Coffee in the summerhouse, we sat and read for a while. Managed to grab the half dried washing just as the big spots of rain began to appear on the paving stones, as Id done a bit of hand washing before the predicted rain started.

Lunch was a pork & apple sauce sandwich for hub, I finished off the leftover hotpot from yesterday.

We caught up on 'Blood' on tv after lunch, it is really good, if you've not seen it, worth a watch!

The window cleaners came this morning so I felt obliged to clean the inside kitchen windows as they were very murky....last weeks sunshine shamed me:-0 Anyway they are squeaky clean now! I also cleaned the hob, then kicked myself as we are having a treat for dinner this evening, as it our 26th Wedding Anniversary. Hub suggested we have Surf n Turf. I cooked the ribeye steaks on the griddle, which spat everywhere, but hey, it was delicious, as were the chilli prawns, corn on the cob, fried onions with a large mixed salad, and a lovely glass of fizz with a raspberry thrown in for good measure :-)

So to todays blip, it is a combined celebration to mark our anniversary but more importantly Captain Tom Moore's 100th Birthday and his tremendous fund raising efforts for the NHS of over £30m!!!! The pictures of him, then & now, are on display in a house window not far from where we live. I snapped it this morning as we passed by. I presume that someone in their family is a talented artist......they had a fabulous winter scene at christmas, and a portrait of their children on their birthdays...all equally impressive!!

The rest of the fizz will be finished off during the course of this evening, after we stood at the front door, sheltered from the pouring rain, everyone out again, all showing our continuing support for the fabulous key workers everywhere.

#Stay home, stay safe folks x
