Two becomes Three

One of the readings at our son's wedding was from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labour.
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also if two lie down together they will keep warm
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though they may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

Today they became a family of three with the birth this morning of Finn Thomas.  I keep looking at his photo from Whatsapp and thinking this is a new human.  It sounds as if there was a good team at the hospital to support Finn's arrival into the world.  Under the Covid conditions they cannot have visitors and are in their own little bubble.  I have ordered flowers to be delivered.  I will have to wait patiently to meet the little baby boy.  In the meantime I can look at the photo of my son with his son.
