a fortunate chain of events

I had to deliver "medical supplies" to a colleague (acceptable), then once I had done so nipped into the corner shop near her house for some biscuits (acceptable) and inadvertently ended up buying 6kg of self-raising flour (mrs drcraig thought this was *very* acceptable).
