This work boat was a pilots' tender used to ferry pilots from the shore out to the large pilot vessel in the Ribble estuary when Preston was a working port. It has been stripped back to the bare hull, with the engine removed. Although it may look rough to the untrained eye, it is actually in pretty good condition and will make a fine restoration.
