VOTING BY MAIL

This mailbox has serviced this owner well, but it may soon become obsolete.  The United States Postal Service,  "America's favorite government agency," is on the brink of collapse for a variety of reasons. It was in huge financial trouble even before the pandemic, but now mail volume is down by half, because customers are using online bill pay, digital communication & advertising. Perhaps the biggest problem is, our President has a long standing grudge against the post office.
It's a long story....

There is a push to have national mail-in voting, for our Presidential Election in November, because there might be a second wave of Covid-19 in the fall.
Voters would be safer voting by mail & the USPS would get a huge
influx of business.  However, grudges often carry more weight in politics.

I fear our lovely, postal worker, June, will be filing for unemployment soon....
