Daddy's trip to the tailor

The main body of the text blipped here is Lorna’s father Albert's account of a long-overdue trip to his tailor to order a new suit. It has survived nine decades because Albert (AKA 'Daddy' or 'The President') pasted it into one of the family albums created in the early 1930s.

Perhaps the most interesting line here is one composed by Lorna as editor of the piece (LBL Ed):

‘When one has to deal daily with a great man, one is bound to come across scraps of his unfinished work which - unless preserved by some unknown admirer, would be lost to the world.’

We agree, although our wording would read:

‘When one has to deal daily with a great aunt, one is bound to come across scraps of her unfinished work which - unless preserved by some as yet unborn relatives, would be lost to the world.’
