Empis Tessellata

I think this is Empis Tessellata, a bristly fly from the Empididae family.  It is feeding while on a large dandelion flower but, according to my Collins field guide, it is actually using its long horny proboscis to suck the juices from other flies rather than to collect nectar.

Gorgeous weather today.
