Although there are a few nice walks from the door, more often than not I go up to the area we know as The Kingdom, a small area of access land with wood and heathland. At one point the path come out of the woodland into an open area which is a good place to watch for birds. Today was just amazing. within 10 minutes I saw an astonishing range of birds including Chiffchaff (see extras), Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Jay, Bullfinch, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Yellowhammer, and for me the highlight, a Whitethroat, which was displaying and singing madly. As a bonus I also saw a brown hare, and a chap told me (from a social distance) that there were Lesser Whitethroat around, which we heard but sadly didn't see.
