Orange Tip

It seems that having a blotchy greeny-grey camouflage pattern underwing means that this lovely little white butterfly spotted out walking today had to be an ‘Orange-tip’ female. No orange to be seen on the female it seems, but no-doubt that is a far cleverer survival strategy.

The wonders of technology, I only identified her at home afterwards when reading up on a neat identification App called iRecord Butterflies. So impressed with it, I decided to register and upload it my with the find location - only to find I had been registered for 4 years already.

Certainly peace and tranquility out today on a lovely long walk with a MrsB. A video sound recording of some lovely (unidentifiable) birdsong at Cicely Mill in Rostherne here as we sat taking a breather.
