Blackbird

This is the male blackbird's favorite song post, high up in the silver birch.

Earlier in the evening I was sitting in the greenhouse, enjoying the quietness when I heard something scratching. When I looked around the red squirrel was climbing up the side of the greenhouse and onto the roof above me. So amazing to look up and watch it the other side of the glass, just a few feet away from me. It stood and watched me, too!
