Jasmine Flower

This beautiful little girl is called Bela. And that translates from the Hindi as "Jasmine Flower", hence today's title. She was a month old yesterday.

We were over visiting her mum and dad today (and also her maternal Grandfather & Mother who are over from Pune). It was the first time that we've seen the baby and I was impressed at how quickly she's grasped the nuances of gurgling in so many languages (she will be fluent in 5 languages by the time she's about 4*).

We had a great fun evening which included a first for me in that I got to eat Pohe. Not something I've ever heard of before but certainly something I would eat again. Absolutely delicious.

So here's to Bela. I wish her a long and happy life, and for her mum and dad, I wish them many quiet nights with lots of sleep. And in the short term, I hope the flight back to India on Friday is completely stress free.

* By the time she is four she will have learned (in alphabetical order) English, German, Hindi, Marathi & Punjabi. I think that is amazing.
