The Moss

I've been walking this area recently even though it can get a bit busy.   Timing it right helps a lot.

Its been established for some time as our local nature reserve. As far back as the 13th Century it was an area used for Peat processing and last century there was a commercial  Peat Development company operating on the site and waggons took it from here to the local railway station to be transported.   There are still some remains including the brick foundations to be seen.
