Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris)
Australian Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris), on Caroline Bay, Timaru. These were quite approachable but the 1200mm lens got me closer still. Steadied by a monopod it was still easy to loose track of it when it moved.
