Pilrig House

I've always liked the look of Pilrig House. It was built in 1638, possibly on the site of a much earlier peel house. It was badly damaged by a couple of fires in the late '70s or early '80s and apparently virtually razed to the ground, but was rebuilt with the help of grant aid. You would never know now. It certainly adds character to Pilrig Park and stands as a wee reminder of the depth of history in this place.
