Garden day

Not surprisingly, I felt pretty tired after yesterday's trip, so spent most of the day at home. However, this involved catching up with quite a lot of emails and trying to negotiate a client's 'onboarding' system, which was absolutely not user-friendly and ended up making me completely exasperated. I broke up the day with regular forays round the garden.

In terms of wildlife, the highlight was finding a day-old Orange-tip caterpillar (see extra) on our patio Hedge Garlic - which means we'll have to leave it to seed yet again! The evening light was beautiful, and I spent some time photographing the many garden plants now coming into bloom including Welsh poppy, Clematis montana, Cistus and this Geranium cultivar, which is the first of many. Perennial geraniums do very well in our soil and are absolutely resistant to slugs and snails, which is a big bonus!
