*VE Day - Notice To Mariners*

The Clyde played an important role in World War 2 and many of its coastal towns sustained heavy bombing during the conflict

In recognition of this important anniversary, the port has been asked to participate in the Royal Navy’s #shinealight campaign to mark VE 75 commemorative celebrations on Friday 8th May

A Notice to Mariners has been issued for...

8th May 2020
At 1500 sound your ships horn to mark Churchill’s speech

At 2130-2135, shine a search/spotlight into the night sky marking the King’s Speech (time adjusted for original speech in 1945 at 2100 to achieve maximum effect in darkness)

We understand participation in those commemorative events may not be possible due to current restrictions on movement, but you may like to participate from your homes
