75 years since Victory in Europe

The school have encouraged parents to explore the meaning of, and celebrate, VE Day. so today we spent a bit of time talking about it, had two mins silence at 11 with the kids, baked scones* and delivered them to neighbours, decorated the outside of our house with bunting and balloons, took chairs and tables into the front garden and joined all our neighbours for a socially distanced street party, it was lovely. Sun shining, music playing, families out chatting. A bit later on Lucie and I went for a cycle to check out everyone’s decorations, so much effort put in around our area. What a fab day!
*i couldn’t find double or clotted cream so I had to use squirty cream, not my first choice.
