Lots of Sunshine & a Bottle of Prosecco

As I wandered down to the village bus shelter, which has been converted to a temporary book and dvd swap for those in the village who are isolating, to drop off some books, I was loving all the VE Day decorations. We were going to hold a village ‘street party’ in the donkey paddock but even though that had been cancelled, people were getting into the spirit of the celebrations anyway. I particularly loved these two flags, hand-made by our next door neighbour’s children, stuck into the ground outside their front gate on two small sticks.

I had originally ordered, via text, a picnic platter from a local pub but as they hadn’t acknowledged the text, I wasn’t convinced they had received it...sure enough they hadn’t, so we popped to our local farm shop and bought some BBQ goodies instead. We were given our BBQ by Dad about 8 years ago and today was the first time we’ve ever used it! It was worth the wait though as it was delicious, especially as it was accompanied by lots of sunshine and a bottle of Prosecco.
