Bank Holiday Celebrations

Well, what an atmosphere there was today!
The sun was shining, wartime music was blasting and all across the estate people were out celebrating VE day. Everyone found a way of being together and making much-needed connection with one another, whilst staying physically apart. A few police cars monitored the estate at regular intervals making sure of this too!

We had egg mayo sandwiches & cream teas with prosecco and lovely cupcakes that a neighbour left on everyone's doorsteps before the celebrations. Neighbours had gone to the trouble of setting up an old fashioned sports competition which included mini golf, throwing beanbags into mini hoops & skipping. What impressed me was their thoroughness with hygiene. They had disposable gloves for everyone - who took safe turns - and were disinfecting everything thoroughly. My daughter came runner-up and won some fudge :)

Please see my daughter's blip @francescaR to see a couple that went to tremendous efforts with a vintage car and costumes !
