Darkness into Light

It was hard to choose a photo for today, I took so many. This morning I got up before sunrise and walked a few hundred meters up the road to a place where we thought would be suitable to watch the sun coming up. It didnt disappoint.

At this time of year we usually join hundreds of other walkers in our local town (and thousands from around the world) in an event called Darkness into Light which raises money for Pieta House, a charity providing free support to those affected by suicide or self harm. Covid put q stop to these events but we were asked to go out at sunrise, wear yellow, take some photos and donate to Pieta house.

Of course Ellie and Bonnie came with us and we all (dogs included) wore our yellow hi-vis vests and left the house about 5.20am. I think someone thought we were the gardai and quickly turned their car around on the road when they saw us
. We also met a fox casually strolling across the road. A very enjoyable walk on a beautiful morning supporting a great cause.

The rest of the day will be spent enjoying the sunahine and catching up on all those little jobs around the place that need catching up on after a busy week.
