Speckled wood butterfly

I saw the occasional speckled wood butterfly during the last week. Today, they were everywhere. They were easy to photograph as they don't flit about so much and were happy to rest on leaves in the sun. A short sharp unexpected shower put an end to an afternoon with the trowel.
