Darkest hour

We've just watched Darkest Hour on TV.   Not an action film but very thought provoking when you think how close we came to surrendering after Dunkirk.

It's really timely after yesterday's VE Day celebrations and particularly as the 80th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuation will be in a couple of weeks time.

These books belonged to my father.   I remember him being given them for Christmas.   It must have been about 10 years after the end of the war.   Sadly they aren't a first edition as they would be worth £5000.
