Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg have been invaded as they were bound to be lying straight in the path of a thrust towards Britain.

The mind boggles at what must be going on. 100 enemy planes were brought down in one day, but there seems to be no end to them.

We went to Bristol to stay with Auntie Eve and Uncle Arnold*.

The Government has fallen. Churchill is PM and a Coalition of all parties set up. God send it may not be too late for them to do anything.

*From Lorna's cousin's memoirs we know that Uncle Arnold was a gifted cellist. We believe that he worked in the family fish merchant business with Lorna's paternal grandfather. He was a special constable during the war.
