Thinking of Mom on Mother's Day

Dear Diary,

My mom has been gone for 18 years but here she is in 1961 in the kitchen of our home.  (Just look at all those glass milk bottles!  Do you remember when milk came in reusable glass bottles?)  But Mother's Day is also a time to think of all the women in our lives who had a guiding influence over the years, like my dear grandmother and Auntie.  I was very fortunate to have all three growing up.  This will be a very strange Mother's Day for many in these days of social distancing and a shut down world.  But if these three women were alive today I know what they would say, "Do the right thing; think of others before yourself; be patient, this too shall pass; and WASH YOUR HANDS!"
