Day Forty-seven; Patented

Back to work today. The morning was full of meetings. The Grand Round followed at 1230. By Zoom. An excellent presentation by one of our more advanced trainees. Marred by the persitent noise from one or two groups, who behaved as if they were in front of a television, and despite her making a number of requests for them to mute their connection it required me to send a message by the Chat function, in CAPITALS, before there was silence for her.

Left just in time to be able to cycle to the lab for a blood test. There I was told by the phlebotomist about how abusive some people had been when they had reopened a couple of weeks ago. That sort of behaviour disappoints and upsets me, as it is so unnecessary.

Then home before heading out for a walk, and saw a different patterned (and patented) manhole cover.

Three newly diagnosed cases of Covid-19, two of them nurses who were looking after patients from one of the clusters. They had apparently been asymptomatic during a two week stand down, and then tested positive.

The Prime Minister has announced a slow and phased change to Alert Level 2 from Thursday this week. I guess that means a change for me at work, which will be good.
