Sunbiggin Tarn

Looking resplendent in the low evening sun.

Another volunteer shift at the hospital today. Noticeably busier now that some 'normal' activities are resuming. The maternity ward is still the best, oncology sobering. Awful on some levels that we're taking food parcels to key workers. Wonderful on some levels that we're taking food parcels to key workers. Let's have a good long think about making sure they're the ones getting an extra £10k next time the proverbial hits the air moving device.

Home to a very nice 'thank you' fleece from the Ambulance Trust.

I've hesitated to write this for a few blips now, but I think it needs recording for posterity.
The organising of volunteers has been an utter shambles. And I've heard that all across the country.
But. And it is a huge but. In large part the system simply hasn't been able to cope with the sheer number and enthusiasm of people wanting to help. And that's simply amazing.
We are a country with a great many good good people in it. Sure, there are a few twonks, and yes we're most definitely led by donkeys, but. A lot of good good people.

I hope we remember that when we come out the other side of this.

Fantastic wander to end the day. There are some aspects of social distancing I'm quite liking.
