Epitonium Scalare

These shells were once incredibly rare, collected by Swedish and Russian royalty and wealthy individuals like the de Medicis. They’re unusual in that the whorls do not touch but are held together by a sort of latticework. This one is a reasonable size, about 45mm. It was collected by K’s dad’s fishing mate, Thommo.
