After the tulips

The tulips are almost over for another year with the late varieties in full bloom or just past it. Their colour and charm was a welcome sight as they took over the garden from the earlier blooming snow drops, narcissuses and crocuses. Now it’s the turn of alliums, whose buds are just beginning to burst and early flowering clematis to offer some majesty and a splash of colour. Of course we can’t forget the Welsh poppies that have self seeded all over the garden and will be flowering from now until the autumn
