Gnarled

This is becoming one of my favourite trees. It's a gnarled and trunk heavy Oak,  hanging on in the middle of the pasture. On the 1891 25 inch map it's clearly marked, already  isolated, one a few signs of a possible former hedgerow.

And we can see that the Hawthorn blossom is beginning to bloom.

Just a quick lunchtime walk on a work day, but I enjoyed some Swift swooping overhead, and found one Speckled Wood butterfly on a cool, overcast day.
