Everyday living

Blue sky

Taken from the north shore of Loch na Keal, we had a brief respite from the gales and the sun came out. I sat for half an hour watching an otter feeding - a real privilege.

A great selection of bird life too - home to golden and white-tailed eagles, buzzard, kestrels, hen harrier and merlin and on the water great northern, red and black throated divers, goldeneye, godwit, shelduck, red breasted mergansers to name just a few.

The road on the north shore will take you round to the magical island of Ulva and eventually the stunning Calgary Bay.
