Lathyrus Odoratus

Kingston Ridge

The spaniel and I had our first trip to the South Downs since early March, up Blackcap for the view south to the Kingston Ridge, and then down into Ashcombe Bottom looking for butterflies. There weren't that many around - Common Blue, Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Large White, Peacock - due to the cold wind and cloudy skies. The UK butterfly monitoring scheme is back up and running from tomorrow so I shall try to visit at least one of my transects.
