A Typed Postcard from my 92 Year Old Aunt

This has been posted not because of the photo but because of what it is. Today 'The Elliot Family' recieved a postcard from my Aunt Winifred. It was in response to our card sent to her - a quarantine catch up note. It was a postcard of Kippen, the village she lives in and one of my favourite places in the world.

Aunt Winifred has always been a good correspondent, keeping up with family and friends near and far over the years. We were so touched to see she had typed it. Due to arthritis she types her letters now. She says the medicine she now takes 'makes her slow' but I don't think this note suggests slowness. She grasps it all and writes with good humour and interest. She is 92. She's my Dad's big sister. He has two big sisters. The other is Aunt Marjory. It's lovely to see the three of them when they get together.

The postcard led to a discussion round our kitchen table about whether emails and social media will still be read 20, 50 or 100 years from now and how nice it was to get a physical letter.
