Hells Bells

Another cattle day today.
A trip to Peeblesshire to buy 20 AngusX Saler bulling heifers . Kept a suitable distance from everyone , drew out the 20 we wanted, agreed a price and didn’t seal the deal with the usual firm handshake !
Back home just in time as a couple of rogues in high Viz appeared in supposedly to see if I needed any tar plannings. Sent them off again then phoned wee brother to make sure he was about if they appeared in at him. They have been doing the rounds as spotted in East Lothian this morning , same patter as usual. Call me suspicious but it’s just an excuse to see what’s nickable ! So much for being in lock down . Hardly call punting tar an essential job.
The contractor in to begin ripping the 7 Ha field we are getting back from the sand quarry. The weeds were sprayed off 3 weeks ago . The next move will be to work the ground, de stone it, spread slurry on it, work it again, sow the grass seed, roll it, then spread fertiliser and lime . Not just a 5 minute job then. Then fingers crossed it grows and we don’t get a late frost or drought ! The joys.
Some bluebells to cheer you up .
