Sun, sea, seal and FRIEND!

I met Karen in Seaford for a socially distanced walk and picnic lunch. After two months of lockdown I can’t find the words to describe how exciting it was!

The weather was fantastic for our trip to Splash Point. Karen spotted the seal bobbing around enjoying the sun. Unfortunately she’d left her telephoto lens in the car and the seal didn’t respond to our pleas to swim a bit closer.

Back at the car park we decided to drive back to Splash Point to have our picnic there, giving us the opportunity to see if the seal was still around once Karen had the right lens.

After we’d eaten our lunch the seal passed by. We gave chase abandoning our chairs and bags. It become apparent that seals can swim fast! By the time we’d caught up it was heading out to sea. It was funny.

All of a sudden it was 3pm so we said our goodbyes. I made a brief shopping stop on my way home for diesel, my first top up since March.

In doggo news, I explored a new “walk from home” route. Emily came home covered in fox poo while Storm stunk of swamp water. Needless to say we’ll go back with the whole pack. Team Beagle went with Martin to the woods.

What an exciting day!
