The book suggested that the recipe was an experiment by the author (Nigel Slater in The Kitchen Diaries) so I decided to follow suit and freestyle based on what I already had. The result? Banana and raspberry cake. Turns out to be a great combination.

Despite this great cake, and other amazing homemade food, I can't wait to be able to go out for food. I know you can get takeaway but I'll really appreciate being to eat out and not tidy up afterwards etc.

H decided to reject all efforts at homeschooling today, but we managed to sneakily fit in some reading of the recipe, writing and drawing of a menu for dinner, nature study and a lot of PE!
