Orange poppies.

These orange poppies have been planted at the corner of our road, where only BlackBerry brambles existed before. I did not know one could have orange poppies! Then I noticed red and orange poppies growing together by the war memorial. So vivid.
Today I have been in a quiet, reflective mood. Almost melancholy. Missing family and feeling a bit sorry for myself. Wrote a card to my brother, whose birthday is today. Spoke on a video call to my daughter Becky, who cheered me up with stories of her newly hatched chicks and their overprotective mother hen.
Grateful today for video calls, bright spring colours and encouraging words in this mornings prayer time.
