On this day 53 years ago . . . I attended my first ever Boro Match . . . a 4-1 win against Oxford Utd and promotion !

On this day 23 years ago . . . Boro at their only FA Cup Final . . . and the end of their most dramatic season. Two WemBOROley Finals, robbed of 3 points by the FA and relegated in the last game. Phew . . . plenty of behind-the-scene-stories show we shot ourselves in the foot before it all began. For a Boro Supporter that is just par for the course.
For horse racing lovers, it was also the year of the Grand National That Never was . . . before 2020 that is !
