Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Now the real work begins

There are baby bushtits in the nest! Since I can’t see inside the tubular nest, I can only tell by watching the parents (and the doula!) bringing fat juicy worms and yummy spiders to the nest. They are constantly busy: one goes in, another comes out, sometimes carrying the little packets of poop (they keep a clean house). There is an adult male - not the mate - that helps care for the nestlings. This is apparently quite common. Bravo to the doula-man!
