On our regular loop we saw what looks to be a bee relocation effort going on here in someone's front yard.  There were certainly many bees (unfortunately you can't see them in the picture) bouncing around and checking out the temporary hive.  There's a mesh cone over the knot hole in the tree where their original home partially remains.  It seems like it'll be quite a process and could take months, it's described at the beginning of the last paragraph, which looks to be what they're attempting.  I hope it's successful, it's not something I've seen done before.  As this is on our daily loop I'll be able to see how it goes.  Fascinating.
