Emerging gradually

I've been keeping my eye on this poppy but it seems to be taking forever to unfold itself and have the privilege of being my first poppy in bloom for this year.

A park walk with the dogs this morning ...... we got a bit wet when we started out but the rain soon went off and we completed our amble in very pleasant walking conditions.
