In the midst of a working at home day that started with a teleconference regarding a local construction project that has caused many problems and finished with a (virtual) Joint Ministerial Committee involving all the governments in the U.K., seizing a moment of calm by a pond in which lilies are just beginning to emerge seemed not just sensible but essential.
