New Garden

A gift from a good friend, a little trough, planted up a few days ago and now standing by the front door at the bungalow.   First of many.

Tomorrow I am having a day off but today saw another cleaning blitz.  The living room floor is now almost free of the layer of crushed carpet underlay that had adhered with great determination to the very dark lino tiles beneath.   I wouldn't call it pretty but it's a massive improvement and the place smells better for it.   A new floor covering may have to wait a while but will transform the space when it's done.

The plumber can fit a bath next week - I just have to find and order one that will fit the space and our needs.   The electrician can do the re-wiring the following week which is excellent news as what we have now is decidedly ropy.   Very pleased indeed to have dates for these two jobs.

An evening walk in the country lanes put us the right side of town for picking up a tin of tile paint and a large consignment of long life orange juice from a friend who had been shopping out-of-town today.  He'd picked up some bits and bobs that are currently unobtainable locally for several other folk too.  Just champion!
