Rock Pooling

The children have come for tea with us today, they have been on the shore rock pooling with their Dad. One of the things they found is this crab complete with many eggs. These were about to hatch apparently. Our son studied Marine Biology at university and so has always been interested in the sea shore. Izzy is sponging up all the information and is fast learning all about the sea shore life around here. They took many photos and were careful to return all the creatures and rocks back to their original position.
They found a brittle starfish that she was particularly pleased about as she hadn’t seen one before.

The hat she is wearing has become a firm favourite and she has been wearing it since her last visit when we made it a bobble tail and she carefully sewed it onto the back.

The wind has come up and it’s decidedly chilly today. Hopefully the good weather will be back soon :)
