Charitable layers

I went out for a drive onto the fens today to a remote house where a disabled lady keeps chickens. All through lockdown she has been providing the foodbank with eggs. All her chickens are rescue birds and she apologised that they are not laying as well as they might at the moment as they are putting all theIt energy into growing back feathers. It is Mrs TT’s birthday today, a special one, and all the family, children and grandchildren were available for a 9.30 am Zoom meeting. That would not have been possible except for lockdown. She was delighted with her additional birthday present which took me an hour and a half online to secure, a slot at the local recycling centre! There was nobody to help us unload due to social distancing and we really struggled to lift the full builders bags into the high skips.
