Amidst a sea of green

I don't pretend to be an expert on identifying plants and trees but I'm pretty sure this is a hawthorn tree. It looks very like the pictures of hawthorn trees that David Hockney drew on his iPad and exhibited at the Royal Academy a few years ago. Not that I'm comparing my pictorial efforts to those of David Hockney! I liked this splash of white blossom against a sea of greenery that can be found in the common land accessible from Chobham car  park.
