Gold...

A day of report writing, broken only by a trip out to Holme Fen with Pete and Rosie. The sun was dazzling but there was a very strong wind, which made it feel quite chilly in exposed areas. While Pete was collecting the contents of some pitfall traps, I tried photographing the swaying flower-heads of purple moor-grass Molinia caerulea, which have faded to a warm gold by this time of year. This was my favourite shot of the series, pretty much straight out of the camera.
