Shop local

I’ve been so frustrated at the poor quality of supermarket veg in the lockdown. It’s not their fault. They are doing their best, but the “best before” dates are so often only one or two days after your visit and the vegetables, especially carrots, certainly go off.

I’ve read on a local website that a market gardener only three (uphill) miles away from my home are open on a Sunday morning.

It’s charming. Socially distanced and respecting. A super range and lovely people. It looks as though it will last but I’ve only just brought it home (extra)

I was so close that I treated myself to a short stroll high up there, on Gentleshaw Common. What a lovely start to a Sunday morning.

Stay safe.
