Kereru

Rather unusual to see any kereru, or wood pigeon, in Central Otago but when we lived in Dunedin some years ago we often saw - or heard them as they flew. They have every distinctive noisy wingbeats as they fly. It's any wonder they have been such a source of food in the past as they are big and fat. They are a beautiful special creature too with their green and bronze feathers. Obviously I'm still in Dunedin.,
